Home' LOTL : September 2004 Contents EDITOR'S LETTER
Last month delivered a dark day for lesbians and gays with
the passing of the Marriage Act Amendment bill, which
effectively bans same sex unions, and their recognition, in this
country. I urge everyone to fight on this issue, whether you
imagine yourself as a bride or groom or not. Because it's about
equal rights for all across the board and if we let our major
political parties get away with this we will always be brushed
to the margins during policy-making or used in the wedge
politics game. Happily, I discovered there are some politicians
out there passionately supporting us, but they need us to fight
much harder if we are to be heard over the conservative
majority. And happily, I welcome any lesbian couples out there
making a formal commitment to each other to contact LOTL.
Each month we would like to feature a ceremony. It's one way
of saying we are living our lives as we see fit, not as legislation
declares. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org

many older lesbians as she can, and is
interested in the issues they face.

and when it comes to celebrities loves putting
on her writing hat. This month she is star

bowled me over. She left me thinking, 'Damn,
I wish I was her lover!'"
