of an Oklahoma high school, circa 1987.
When her misbehaviour gets out of hand,
she is banished to the remedial class

Clarke. Angered by her mother (Milla Jo-
vovich) and irked by her new fiancé (Wil-

her real father in Los Angeles with Clarke

Out of nowhere, into a mid-west American
town, comes Alexa from Amsterdam.
The mysterious traveller is working on
a documentary about gay suicide and
appears to be inspired by events close
to her. Sexually ambiguous and certainly
uninhibited, Alexa becomes more than just
familiar with the locals - both a lesbian
artist and a young groundskeeper, but soon
her unusual presence in this small town
raises unwanted attention and obsession.
