Radio INK are living proof that good thing s do
come out of 5am Myspace exchanges! When
DJs Dic Mone y and Ronny Clark found the
gorg eous Miss S early one morning singing in a
Sydne y nightclub, they knew they ’d found their
princess of the dance floor.
Proclaimed as Sydne y’s ne west late-night party
specialists, Radio INK have emerg ed from their
DJ decks to become a powerhouse live act. Radio
INK have re cently played shows with US rockers
Neon Trees and Australian dance g roup The
Potbelleez and have already been dubbed as the
next Sneaky Sound System!
Their debut EP Rocket debuted at number 38
in the iTunes Dance Album chart and the video
has already had nearly 20,000 views on YouTube.
Shot in a non-air conditioned basement during
Sydne y’s record-breaking heat wave and under
the creative g uidance of well-known indie film
director James Demitri, Rocket: The Video is an
alien-inspire d clip which includes an extended
shor t film “space odyssey” version for R adio
INK’s YouTube channel.
“ We spent two amazing weeks in Afghanistan
earlier this year playing for the Australian troops,”
Miss S says. “It was hot and intense. But it was
easy compared to shooting the video for Rocket in
Sydney ’s 40 degree heat wave.
“But we were so happy and proud with the end
result, it was all wor th it.”
Radio INK certainly know how to make an
impact. Using more than $300,000 wor th of
high-end equipment, they recently proje cted the
cover of their new EP onto various landmarks
around Sydney, including the Harbour Bridge,
King s Cross and Martin Place to promote their
Rocket EP launch last month.
Bondi-born (and now “resident Eastern
Sydneyn suburbs wanker ” she laughs), R adio
INK front woman, Miss S, is looking for ward to
