New Zealand’s ski slopes fire up for a queer
adventure with Gay Ski Week in July.
Full throttle hurtling down a ski slope on an adrenaline rush is how
to enjoy winter at its best. Then dancing the night away with your

Adrenaline will be the name of the g ame at the ninth annual event set

says she looks for ward to her annual rendezvous to Queenstown and
enjoys catching up with other g ay ski attendees.
“I met some wonderful people in my first year, so I returned year after
year, I love the comradeship, friendly atmosphere and acceptance, there
is little attitude, e ver yone mingles and is welcoming of lesbians.”
In 2010, the ninth annual e vent attracted 900 people from around the

Canada and the UK .
Gay Ski Week NZ event dire ctor Mike Sanford says he is thrilled that
members of the SKI BUMS club will be attending this year’s event.
“I ’ve been in communication with them for years and out of the blue
got a call from the SKI BUMS director who said he is org anising a group
for the event, so this is exciting news,” Sanford says.
Sanford says, “it has been awesome the international interest we are
getting and we can’t wait to host the SKI BUMS members and show
them some tr ue Kiwi hospitality.”
The SKI BUMS dire ctor Chris French is based in New York and is in
charg e of more than a dozen annual group trips to the world’s best ski
“New Zealand sits at the top of the wish list for skiers and snowboarders
from around the world ,” French says.
“Anyone who has seen Lord of the Ring s has dreamed of travelling
there, and we’re excited to help make those dreams come tr ue.
“Ski Bums bring s the fun wherever we g o, and we can’t wait to mix
it up with the fun-loving international crowd at the Gay Ski Week NZ
Gay Ski Week NZ is always kept fresh and this year exclusive events

A Cowgirl Dinner has been added to the schedule and of course what
