Following the critical success of Catherine
Traicos' 2009 LP, e Amazing, Catherine re-
entered the studio armed with a swag of songs
developed, for the rst time, with a settled band
line-up. In guitarist Darren Nuttall (Tucker
B's), bassist Kasper Kiely (Sketching Cato) and
drummer Tim Day (O), Catherine found a group
of musicians to attain her musical vision.
Under the direction of 5-time ARIA award
winning producer Paul McKercher (You Am I,
Jen Cloher, Augie March) the new tracks came to
life baring a refreshing simplicity and directness
yet intriguing depths.
e rst single 'Beg For Love' from the soon to be
released LP is a perfect piece of classic pop.
Where 'Beg For Love' is rmly rooted in the annals
of pop, special bonus single 'Baby Don't Cry' slows
down the tempo and enters the world of alt-country.
Featuring ARIA nominated Pedal Steel Guitarist
Jason Walker (Youth Group), 'Baby Don't Cry'
gives a heartfelt lament to loss and the hope for
ese two songs give a tantalising taste of what's
to come on the next album from one of Australia's
most exciting musical talents.
Catch Catherine as she embarks on a tour to
promote 'Beg For Love' in February. Special guest
for most shows are WA out t Simone & Girlfunkle.

After wowing us
with her debut
Rockferry in 2008,
Duffy returns with a
sophomore effort co-
written by songwriter
(yes he is related to
the Strokes guitarist
- he's his Dad) and backed up by none other than
those masters of urban funk -- The Roots. The result
is an album that blends upbeat pop with smoky
ballads and occasional do-wop. Standout track is
'Don't Forsake Me' which perfectly suits Duffy's
Cowboy Junkies Renmin Park Ever since Cowboy
Junkies landed on the

many a music lovers'
heart. This new album is the rst in a series of themed
efforts for the Junkies that will be released in the next
18 months and it walks the line of heavier rock efforts
to ethereal jazz inspired numbers and impressive
soundscapes. A must buy for fans.

and Young's tireless scatting while the titular 'We're
All In This Together' features some delicious banjo
plucking that lingers long after the rst listen...
