t was great to see such an overwhelming
positive response to the LOTL Powerlist 2016.
We are delighted to present 41 outstanding
women voted for by you! We are thrilled with
the list and had great fun putting together the
pages, which demonstrate the richness and
diversity of our community.
At the same time, I have been working on the
shortlist for the Australian LGBTI Awards 2017.
This is another impressive line-up of individuals,
who are making a difference in their own
worlds: from the Anglican priest whose public
advocacy for the LGBTI community has touched
many hearts; to the 18 year old brotherboy in
Bwgcolman (Palm Island) who is fighting for
acceptance in his remote community.
I have been touched by the overwhelming
response of our straight allies, who are fighting
Heather has been a professional actress for 20 years. She has worked in both
theatre and TV, appearing in numerous dramas for the BBC and ITV. In the last
five years her music has been a big part of her work. Heather is married to her
partner Ellie and together they have a 15-month-old daughter, Annie. Heather is
sharing her tips on parenting (Page 32).
Roxy is the Editorial Assistant for DIVA, Europe’s leading magazine for
lesbians and bi women. She loves her job because she gets to be creative
and meet all her favourite celesbians. Although now based in London,
Roxy called Sydney home for three years and is thrilled to be writing for her
favourite Australian magazine. (Page 10) .
An award-winning comedian, Jackie Loeb, has performed all over the world.
She is also an accomplished musician, writer, and actor (and whatever else
she thinks looks impressive on paper that is impossible for people to verify).
At the time of publication, Jackie has no children, pets or criminal charges.
LOTL is looking forward to her new column Almost Important (Page 12).
